ABSTRACT  

This paper applies the grabber holder linear system model to analyze the wearable products market.  We describe how the overall ecosystem lacks customer retention and discuss multiple underlying factors that may influence whether consumers are loyal to a particular product in this market. 

With the goal of maximizing customer loyalty, we recommend that wearable manufacturers focus on specific market segments such as hearable products in the short term.  In the long term, we recommend that platform providers focus on developing a two-sided market, for example enabling medical professionals to utilize wearable technology as part of their engagement with the elderly and patients who suffer from chronic illnesses.
